IT'S NOT A PLAYGROUND

Highway motorists are not the only victims...each year hundreds of people, an alarming number of children, are killed and injured while trespassing on railroad property.

DON'T GET BOXED IN

Don't start across the tracks unless you know you can make it all the way across.

Once you've started don't stop or try to back up.

Make sure traffic ahead of you will not stop and box you in on the tracks.

The South Jersey Traffic Safety Alliance works with Operation Lifesaver to help promote railroad crossing safety.  Operation Lifesaver is an active continuing public education program designed to reduce the number of crashes, injuries and deaths at highway-railroad crossings.  The program is sponsored cooperatively by federal, state an local governments, as well as civic organizations.
